Brand Information
Nivea is a brand with a long and fascinating history of success, the product of brilliant research, exceptional creativity and good business sense. In 1890, Dr. Oscar Troplowitz bought a laboratory in which, together with dermatologist Professor Paul Gerson Unna, he developed the first stable oil-and-water cream with an emulsifying agent called Eucerit and a rose and lily-of-the-valley scent. In 1911, Nivea, a name derived from Latin meaning "white as snow", was launched in a small yellow Art Nouveau box. A simpler, more distinctive look replaced it in 1925, when the first unmistakable blue tin of Nivea Creme hit the shelves. From then on, thanks to the unmistakable success of the formula, which has changed little to this day, the Nivea family began to grow, adding many products to the range, such as shaving cream, shampoo and skin oil. After the boom of the 70s, and the development of other innovative products, such as the Nivea Men aftershave balm for sensitive skin, in the 90s Nivea expanded to create families such as Visage, Vital and Nivea Bath Care. In a few years, sales quadrupled and today Nivea researchers study the specific characteristics of the skin and the different needs dictated by culture, sex and age. Today Nivea is divided into different types of lines: Face, Body, Sun, Hair, Baby and Men. The latter addresses the actions that can most damage the skin, such as shaving and the necessary nourishment and hydration: top of the range here is the Sensitive Shaving Gel, combined with the Sensitive Shaving Foam, both soothing, without alcohol or parabens. The Baby line consists of products for cleansing and nourishing the delicate skin of children and newborns, with physiological, protective products and without alcohol, parabens or colorants. The Face line has a wide range of anti-aging, hydrating and nourishing products specific for every age and every skin type: the new Nivea Skin Detox or Nivea Nourishing Illuminating masks allow, in just ten minutes, a purifying beauty treatment, while the Golden Uniforming BB Cream is perfect for hydrating, evening out and correcting the skin in your daily routine.
